Our Water Treatment Services Explained

Water treatment services are designed to remove impurities from water so that it is safe for use in industrial settings. These services can be performed on both fresh and saltwater, and they can be used to purify water for drinking, bathing, and other purposes.

Industrial water treatment is important because it helps businesses to comply with environmental regulations, and it can also save money by reducing the need for expensive water purification equipment. Water treatment services can also improve the quality of water used in manufacturing processes, and they can help to protect against the spread of disease.

At WaterCare Solutions, we provide commercial and industrial water treatment services for commercial use. We specialise in helping our clients optimise their water usage and improve their overall operations. Our services are designed to save our clients money, increase efficiency, and protect their equipment and employees.

At WaterCare Solutions, we are proud to handle any issue, no matter how big, small, or unique the water requirement is.

The problems managed by water treatment:

Bacteria growth

Bacteria growth is a big issue that can result in illness and disease if left untreated. Water treatment systems filter the water and dispose of bacteria, often adding chemicals to kill bacteria and break down the biofilm.

Corrosion

Corrosion can cause drinking water to appear discoloured and unpalatable. To combat this, corrosion inhibitors are added to the water treatment in order to prolong the life of the plant and piping. This also reduces the risk of Legionella.

Scaling

Scaling is also known as the hardness of the water. Scaling can decrease the life of systems as well as incur costly maintenance costs. Because of this, scaling is treated by removal at the source.

Microbiological activity

Microbial activity is unwanted in cooling water, closed water, and domestic water systems. Microbial activity is essential for the removal of pollutants and pathogens, recovery of nutrients and energy, and producing clean water.

What is industrial water treatment?

Industrial water treatment is a process that removes contaminants from water used in industrial settings. The goal of industrial water treatment is to produce water that is safe for employees, equipment, and the environment.

Industrial water treatment essentially covers the mechanisms and processes used to treat water that has been contaminated in some way. After water treatment, the water can then be re-used in a variety of ways.

At WaterCare Solutions we provide a variety of services:

  • Hot & cold-water distribution services (showers/taps)
  • Industrial heating and cooling systems (cooling towers, steam boilers, closed systems)
  • Pre-treatment plant
  • Wastewater treatment systems
  • Protecting your water system from the effects of corrosion or scale, which can reduce efficiency and plant life.
  • Protecting employees from the risks associated with bacteria such as Legionella. Bacteria such as this can be responsible for deadly outbreaks, illnesses, and diseases.

What is commercial water treatment?

Commercial water treatment is a process that removes contaminants from water used in commercial settings. The goal of commercial water treatment is to produce water that is safe for all sorts of uses. As well as this, it will help with Legionella control, air quality analysis, and cost-effective energy efficiency.

Wastewater treatment techniques

Coagulation/flocculation

This is where liquid aluminium sulphate is added to raw or untreated water. The result causes dirt particles in the water to coagulate/stick together. After this the dirt particles attach, forming larger particles (flocs) that can easily be removed through settling or filtration.

Sedimentation

Water moves slowly, causing heavy floc particles to settle on the bottom. Accumulated floc lives on the bottom and eventually becomes sludge which is eventually carried on to drying lagoons.

Filtration

Filtration is where the water is filtered to take particles away from the water. These filters are composed of sand and gravel and ensure that impurities that float on water gather together.

Disinfection

Before water goes into the distribution system, it is disinfected to get rid of dangerous bacteria, parasites, and viruses. Chlorine is very effective for this.

Sludge drying

Solids gathered during the sedimentation process are transferred to drying lagoons for disposal.

Fluoridation

Fluoridation treats water systems to adjust the concentration of free fluoride ions. This process is done to reduce dental cavities.

Ph correction

To adjust pH levels, filtered water is combined with lime. This works to stabilise naturally soft water to minimise corrosion.

Benefits of effluent / industrial wastewater treatment

  • Provides reusable water
  • Preserves the environment and natural resources
  • Prevents the spread of disease
  • Supports the economy
  • Provides an energy source
